Mt Martha Tennis Club Refurbishment

On court 1, the existing asphalt base was in good condition with adequate fall for drainage. It required only a few depressions to be filled in, and the painted lines to be grinded off. Modgrass was installed directly on top of the asphalt.
The asphalt bases on three other courts had become very uneven and pooled considerably after rain. The construction of a permaflex layer, on top of the old asphalt, was the ideal solution:

  • The existing asphalt bases did not need to be excavated and removed, thereby avoiding major disruptive works to the whole area
  • Permaflex was more cost-effective than new concrete bases
  • Permaflex bases restored the appropriate levels and falls
  • Permaflex is porous allowing water to drain through more readily
  • Existing fence posts painted, same mesh used but with added top rail.
  • New floodlighting installed
  • All four courts were surfaced with "Club 40" Modgrass, and green sand.

"Dear Tony,

I wish to take this opportunity of thanking you and your team on completing our tennis court.

It has been some time since I have dealt with such a professional team as yours, and I must say in today's hectic business world, it is a pleasure to come across a company so focused on customer service.

Helen and I would like to thank both you and Greg as we certainly appreciated the extra little things that you did whilst you were there. I am sure that this is what will continue to make your company stand alone from your competitors.

It has been our pleasure doing business with you and we wish you well for the future.

Yours truly,

Keith & Helen Morling"

Red Porous Conversion
-Modgrass on Permaflex Base

"My Modgrass Permaflex tennis court is laid on an existing en-tout-cas which was well drained. Consequently, rain goes straight through the court and away, rather than drain across the surface. It is, therefore, a truly all weather court. It is possible to play on it within 20 minutes of the heaviest downpour without any problems of slipping.

I find it a very forgiving surface for the feet and legs. It seems to have a greater 'shock absorbing' quality than surfaces layed on concrete.

I can also comment on Modgrass service, which is as good as their surface. The team were given a very tight schedule to lay the court, to which they adhered exactly, under extremely adverse weather conditions, and I am very happy with the quality of their work.

Sincerely,

Alan Day"

"Modgrass Sports Surfaces transformed an existing old en tout cas tennis court for PLC earlier this year and the reaction from students and staff has been fantastic.

Modgrass are a very professional company with extremely high standards. Their staff were motivated and helpful and the after completion service was excellent.

I would highly recommend Modgrass for any synthetic sportsground rejuvenation or construction.
